1. PRESIDENT
OF ESTONIA
·
Ulle Madise, Chancellor
of Justice, was elected President of Estonia through a secret ballot as the sole candidate for a 5-year term.
·
She
will assume office on 12 October 2026, succeeding Alar Karis, who
did not seek a second term, and will become the second woman President
of Estonia.
2. FIRST
CEO OF SHRI RAM JANMABHOOMI TEERTH KSHETRA TRUST
·
Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra
Mishra was appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth
Kshetra Trust, which manages the Ram
Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh (UP).
·
The
other appointments included Govind Dev
Giri, as General Secretary
·
The
Trust inducted Madan Mohan Pandey, Mahesh Bhagchandka and
Nirmala Yadav, with Nirmala Yadav becoming the first woman trustee of the
Trust.

GOV OF ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS

President Droupadi Murmu appointed Dr.
Dinesh Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya
Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Uttar Pradesh (UP)
as the Lieutenant Governor (Lt Gov) of Andaman and Nicobar
Islands (A&N)

Lt
Gov serves as the constitutional
head of certain Union Territories (UTs) under Article
239 of the Constitution of India
4. HIGH
COURT CHIEF JUSTICES
·
The Ministry of Law and Justice (MoL&J)
notified the appointments of 8 Judges of various
High Courts (HC) as Chief Justices (CJ) of different High courts across India.
·
The Supreme
Court Collegium recommends names, followed by approval from the President
Droupadi Murmu and formal notification by MoL&J
·
Appointments are governed by Article
217 of the Constitution of India, empowering the President to
appoint HC judges and CJs after mandatory consultations with constitutional
authorities.

5. SECRETARY-GENERAL OF APPU
·
Dr Vinaya Prakash
Singh, a 1988-batch officer of the Indian Postal
Service(IPoS), was re-elected as Secretary-General of
the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) for
a second consecutive 4 -year term.
·
He was
elected unopposed by acclamation at the 14th
APPU Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand
6. CHAIRPERSON OF
NCSK
·
The Department of Social Justice and
Empowerment (DoJ&E) which works under the
Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJ&E), appointed Bhagwat
Prasad Makwana as the Chairperson of the of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK).
·
Kaishab
Bihari, a farmer from Odisha, has been appointed as Vice-Chairperson of the commission.
·
Manoj Kumar Balmiki, Sushma
Gaudiyal, and Ravi
Ramu Kalose, have been appointed as members of the NCSK.

GOV OF J&K
·
President of India Droupadi
Murmu appointed Vinai Kumar Saxena, the
Lieutenant Governor (Lt Gov) of Ladakh,
to discharge the functions of the Lt
Gov of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K)
·
Manoj Sinha, who assumed office as the 2nd Lt
Gov of J&K on 7 August 2020, is on an official visit to the United States
of America (USA).
8. JPC
TO EXAMINE FCRA AMENDMENT BILL, 2026
·
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla constituted
a 31-member Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC)
to examine the Foreign Contribution
(Regulation) Amendment (FCRA) Bill, 2026, with Senior
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay
Jaiswal appointed as its
Chairperson.

The JPC
comprises 21 members from the Lok Sabha and 10 members from the Rajya Sabha.
·
A JPC is
a temporary committee constituted by Parliament to conduct detailed
examination and scrutiny of specific Bills, issues, or matters of national importance.
9. CHHATTISGARH RANKED
FIRST UNDER CATCH THE RAIN CAMPAIGN
·
Chhattisgarh has
secured the first position nationally in the third phase of the Jal Sanchay Jan
Bhagidari (JSJB 3.0) initiative, a community-driven water conservation programme
under the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s(MoJS)
Catch the Rain campaign.
·
Five
districts of Chhattisgarh ‘Surajpur, Mahasamund, Balod,
Balodabazar-Bhatapara, and Kabirdham’ featured among India’s top 10,
demonstrating decentralized implementation.
·
The Government of India (GoI) aims to create 2
crore new water conservation structures by May 31,
2027, with Chhattisgarh contributing significantly.
