1. THAILAND’S
ACTING PM
·
Thailand’s
cabinet has appointed incumbent Deputy Prime Minister (Dy-PM) Phumtham Wechayachai to
serve as acting PM of the country.
·
This
appointment was made following the Constitutional Court’s Ruling that
revoked Paetongtarn Shinawatra from PM’s post.
2. ACTING
PM OF YEMEN
·
The
Chairman of the Supreme Political Council of the Houthis Mahdi al-Mashat announced the appointment of Mohammed
Ahmed Muftah as the Acting Prime Minister (PM) of the
Houthi-controlled government Yemen, following the assassination of Houthi PM Ahmed al-Rahawi in
an Israeli airstrike.

Mohammed
Ahmed Muftah was promoted from First Deputy PM to Acting PM.
·
Yemen Capital – Sanaa.
3. GOI
APPOINTS 29TH CGA
·
Government
of India (GoI) appointed T.C.A Kalyani,
a 1991 batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer,
succeeding S.S. Dubey, as the 29th Controller General of Accounts (CGA) in
the Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance (MoF).
·
CGA is the Principal
Accounting Adviser to the GOI.
·
Its
responsibilities include preparing the
Annual accounts of the GOI, monitoring and reconciling receipts and expenditures, implementing electronic
(e)-governance and digital payment initiatives, fiscal reporting for
policymaking, and overseeing the functioning of Civil Accounts Organizations
across ministries.
4. INDIA’S
FIRST MLFF TOLLING SYSTEM
·
Indian
Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), a subsidiary of
the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), signed an
agreement with ICICI Bank in August 2025 to
implement India’s first comprehensive
Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF)
tolling system.
·
The pilot
project will be launched at the Choryasi Fee Plaza on
National Highway-48 (NH-48) in Gujarat.
·
This
cutting-edge system enables seamless,
barrier-free electronic toll collection for highway users, eliminating the
need for vehicles to stop at toll booths and significantly reducing congestion
and travel time.
·
The Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) is an advanced
Electronic Tolling System (ETC), enabling transactions through reading of
FASTag and Vehicle Registration Number
(VRN) by High performance Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) Readers and Automatic Number Plate
Recognition (ANPR) Cameras.
5. IIT-H
TO SETUP COE ‘VIGRAHA’
·
The Indian
Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) has signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Army (IA)’s Simulator Development
Division (SDD) under the Army Training
Command (ARTRAC) based in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (HP), to set up a
Centre of Excellence (CoE) called VIGRAHA (Virtual, Intelligent, Ground-breaking
Research in Augmented Reality (AR)/ Virtual Reality (VR) and High-tech
Applications for the Indian Army).
·
As per
the MoU, the CoE will also launch training and certification programmes in emerging
technologies and internship opportunities for students of IIT-H at the IA’s SDD
in Secunderabad, Telangana.
6. NCERT
CELEBRATED 65TH FOUNDATION DAY
·
National
Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT),
operating under the Ministry of Education(MoE), celebrated its 65th
Foundation Day at its headquarters in New Delhi.
·
During
the event Bal Vatika DTH TV Channel was launched
under Pradhan Mantri (PM) eVidya programme on DTH Channel No. 35.
·
It caters
to teachers, Anganwadi workers, parents,
and children aged 3 to 6 years, with a strong emphasis on developing
Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills.
·
DIKSHA 2.0
Platform: Upgraded
with structured lessons, adaptive assessments, performance feedback, and AI
tools like Read Aloud, Closed Captioning, and translation in 12 languages for
inclusive learning.
·
Launch of Multilingual
Primers: Promotes
foundational learning by covering multiple regional languages, including Hindi,
Sanskrit, Ho-Hindi, and Koya.
·
PM eVidya Mobile
App: Released
PM eVidya mobile app as a centralised gateway for digital learning.
7. INDIA’S
FIRST GROUND HANDLING COMPANY TO SECURE SAFETY CLEARANCE FROM DGCA
·
The
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has
granted safety clearance to Air India SATS Airport Services Private
Limited (AISATS), a Joint Venture (JV) between Air
India Limited and SATS Limited for ground handling operations.
·
With this
move, AISATS has become the first ground handling company in India to
receive the approval.
·
With this
achievement, India is now the second
country in the Asia-Pacific region(APAC) (after Malaysia) to implement such
an extensive safety framework in compliance with International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) guidance.
8. BRICS
CCI HEALTHCARE SUMMIT 2025
·
BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa)
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Healthcare
Summit 2025, was held in New Delhi.
·
The
summit was held under the theme “Bridging Tradition and
Innovation”.
9. 56TH GST
COUNCIL MEETING - NEW DELHI
·
The 56th Goods
and Services Tax (GST) Council meeting, chaired by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,
was held in New Delhi.
·
The GST
Council has approved Next-Gen GST reforms,
effective September 22, 2025, (except, tobacco and
tobacco-related products as they will be specified by MoF).
·
The GST
council has unanimously approved a two-tier tax
structure of 5% and 18%, replacing the previous
4-tier rate structure of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%.
·
Apart
from the new tax structure, the council has also introduced an additional slab i.e. a special demerit rate
of 40% for select
items, including tobacco and luxury items.
·
GST rate
for products like Ultra-High Temperature
(UHT) milk, Pre-packaged and labelled chena or paneer, all the Indian
breads have been revised down from 5%-18% to
NIL.
·
The GST
rate for most of the study essentials
such as pencils & sharpeners, notebooks, exercise books, among others, reduced from 12% to 0%.
·
The GST
rate for 33 life-saving drugs like
Agalsidase Beta, Imiglucerase, Atezolizumab and many others; and diagnostic
kits, reduced from 12% to 0%.
·
GST Council is a constitutional body
introduced through 101st Amendment
Act, 2016 in the constitution. It was constituted under Article
279-A of the constitution.

10. SINGAPORE
PM LAWRENCE WONG’S VISIT TO INDIA
·
Prime
Minister (PM) of Singapore Lawrence
Wong was on a three-day official visit to India
·
He visited India for the first time, marking the 60th anniversary
of diplomatic relations between Singapore and India.
·
PM
Narendra Modi and Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong adopted the “Roadmap
for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP)”, to
enhance the strategic cooperation between India and Singapore
·
The
roadmap for CSP lays emphasis on eight pillars such
as Economic Cooperation, Skill Development & Education, Digitalization and
Innovation, Sustainability, Connectivity, Healthcare & Medicine,
People-to-People & Cultural Exchange, and Defence & Security, to deepen
bilateral relations.
·
Governments
of India(GoI) and Governments of Singapore inked 5 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) covering
civil aviation, space, skills development, digital asset innovation, and a
green and digital shipping corridor, following talks between PM Narendra Modi
and Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong.
