1. UNITED STATES LIFTS 40-YEARS OLD BAN ON OIL EXPORT
i. The United States has lifted a 40 year ban on oil exports.
ii.It is a historic shift for the booming US oil industry.
iii.It will help in economic growth and create jobs  with new revenues, prosperity and increase  energy security for other countries.
iv.The ban was first imposed in 1975 after Arab members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting  Countries had banned oil exports to the US in retaliation for its support of Israel during the Arab-Israeli war.
2. CHENNAIYIN FC WINS 2015 INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS
i. Chennaiyin Football Champions has won the Indian Super League Football tournament at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.
ii. Chennaiyin FC has  defeated  Goa FC by 3-2 goals score.
iii.Indian Super League Golden boot Award is given to John Stiven Mendoza Valencia of Chennaiyin FC and Golden Glove Award is given to Apoula Edima Edel Bete Chennaiyin FC.
iv.Indian Super League  was launched in 2013 to promote football in India on the lines of Indian Premier League and Twenty20 formats of Cricket.
3. UN LAUNCHED 2016 INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF PULSES
i.United nations announced  2016 as International Year of Pulses.
ii.The Theme  of the year will be Nutritious seeds for a sustainable future.
iii.The purpose of the launch is to raise awareness about the benefits of pulses, boost their production and trade, and encourage new and smarter uses throughout the food chain.
4. ABHAY SINGH WON U-19 SINGAPORE SQUASH OPEN
i. India’s Abhay Singh grabbed the Under-19 Singapore Squash Open.
ii.Abhay Singh defeated  Alwin Chai of Malaysia in finals at Singapore.
iii.Abhay singh has now become the world number one junior player  in squash and he already won seven junior titles in the year 2015.
5. SINGAPORE SLAMMERS GRABBED CHAMPIONS OF IPTL 2015
i. The Singapore Slammers won Indian Premier Tennis League  2015.
ii.Singapore Slammers  defeated Indian Aces  in the final  at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
iii.Indian Premier Tennis League  was founded by Mahesh Bhupathi in 2014 to fulfill the demand for top level tennis in Asia.
iv. It’s the first city-based professional league in the world, played in the respective countries.
6. TATA MOTORS LISTED AS ONLY INDIAN FIRM ON TOP 50 GLOBAL R&D SPENDERS
i. Tata Motors made it to the Top 50 in the annual Industrial R&D Investment list for 2015.
ii.The list was topped by the German automaker Volkswagen followed by Samsung, Microsoft, Intel and Novartis.

iii.Earlier Tata motors was at 104th position and now  it moved to  49th position  in 2015.
