1. THE MINISTER OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION SHRI VENKAIAH NAIDU LAUNCHED 352 HOUSING PROJECTS IN 53 CITIES
i. M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, launched 352 housing projects in 53 cities across 17 States. Mr. Naidu launched these projects at a function in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
ii. No. of affordable houses to be constructed under this project are 2 lakh, Total Investment: Rs. 38000 cr.

2. NATIONAL CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL HELD IN VISAKHAPATNAM
i. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the 3-day National Children’s Film Festival at VUDA Children’s Arena in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
ii. The opening film of the NCFF is “Shanu – The Optimist”, directed by K.N.T. Sastry and produced by CFSI in 2016.
iii. This event has been organised by the Children’s Film Society India in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

3. NMCG APPROVED 26 PROJECTS WORTH RS 2,154.28 CR FOR “NAMAMI GANGE PROJECT”
i. The National Mission for Clean Ganga has approved 26 projects worth Rs 2,154.28 cr under the Centre’s ‘Namami Gange’ programme, focusing to reduce the river’s pollution.
ii. NMCG will set up sewage treatment plants and develop sewage network in 4 Ganga basin states: Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
iii. The NMCG will rehabilitate 3 existing STPs of 596 MLD-capacity in Delhi, Haridwar and Vrindavan. 5 STPs of 30 MLD-capacity will be upgraded in Uttarakhand.
iv. The total project cost will be Rs. 899.75 cr and STP capacity of 187.935 MLD.

4. WEST BURDWAN DECLARED AS 23RD DISTRICT OF BENGAL
i. After Jhargram, West Burdwan has declared as 23rd district of West Bengal by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee as a “Bengali New Year gift to the people.”
ii. She also inaugurated a Mishti hub in Burdwan district.
iii. The new district was carved out of Bardhaman district. It comprises Bardhaman Paschim, Asansol and Durgapur.

5. UP GOVT TO BUILD MUSIC VILLAGE IN BISMILLAH KHAN’S HONOUR
i. Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath has given its approval to building a music village named ‘Bismillah Khan Sangeet Gram’ to honour of legendary Shehnai player Ustad Bismillah Khan.
i. The project is planned to develop at Varanasi, it will be evolved by Padma Shri Soma Ghosh, the adopted daughter of the legendary shehnai player Bismillah Khan's honour.
ii. It will have a museum centre, a training-cum-research centre and many other rarities associated with musical ‘gharanas.’

6. INDIAN-ORIGIN EDUCATIONIST ASHA KHEMA IN UK NAMED ‘ASIAN BUSINESSWOMAN OF THE YEAR’
i. Asha Khemka, an Indian-origin educationist in the United Kingdom has been named the ‘Asian Businesswoman of the Year’ at the 5th annual Asian Business Awards Midlands, which honours the outstanding achievements of local Asian businesses. The award ceremony was held at Edgbaston cricket ground in Birmingham, UK.
ii. Other awardees at 5th annual Asian Business Awards are: Morningside Pharmaceuticals - Asian Business of the Year Award, Kailash Suri – Managing Director of Reel Cinemas - Entrepreneur of the Year, Nishti Ismail – Founder of Nishti’s Choice - Community Champion.

7. INDIA WIN 12 MEDALS AT ASIAN YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
i. Indian team stood top at the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. They elevated our country with 12 medals, including 4 gold medals.
ii. Indian gold medalist:  Aakanksha Hagawane (Under-18 Girls), Jishitha D (Under-14 Girls), Sahithi Varshini M (Under-10 Girls) and Erigaisi Arjun (Under-14 Open).
iii. List of Indian silver medalist: Sai Vishwesh C (Under-18 Open), A R Ilamparathi (Under-8 Open), Jyothsna L (Under-14 Girls), Rakshitta Ravi (Under-12 Girls) and B Savitha Shri B (Under-10 Girls).
iv. List of Indian Bronze medalists:  Rohith Krishna S (under-12 Open), Tanmay Jain (Under-10 Open) and Divya Deshmukh (Under-12 Girls).

8. LEWIS HAMILTON WINS FORMULA 1 CHINESE GRAND PRIX FOR MERCEDES
i. Lewis Hamilton has picked title against Sebastian Vettel at the top of the Formula One championship in China.
ii. Hamilton claimed his 5th win here in Shanghai after leading every lap in the inclement conditions as Vettel, who took the flag in Australia a fortnight ago.
iii. Verstappen finishe his line by 3rd place and Ricciardo settled for 4th place, while Raikkonen led recovering compatriot Bottas in 5th.
