1. E-SOT, E-PRAN CARDS LAUNCHED FOR ATAL PENSION YOJANA USERS
i. The subscribers of Atal Pension Yojana can now have online access to their statement of transaction and Permanent Retirement Account Number.
ii. Through the new online tool, APY subscribers can get account related information viz. pension commencement date, transaction details, pension amount, name of the associated bank and name of the nominee.
iii. Atal Pension Yojana is a guaranteed pension scheme, launched by PM Narendra Modi on May 9, 2015. It became operational from June 1, 2015.

2. INDIA TO HOST 18TH WORLD ROAD MEETING
i. The International Road Federation has announced that India is set to host the 18th World Road Meeting.
ii. The theme of World Road Meeting will be ‘Safe Roads and Smart Mobility: The Engines of Economic Growth’.


3. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DARA SHIKOH BEGINS
i. The international conference on “Dara Shiko” will be held on April 27 and 28. The theme of this conference is Reclaiming Spiritual Legacy of India.
ii. The conference will be organized by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations. The objective of the conference is to highlight Dara Shikoh’s contributions.
iii. The conference will includes the participation of eminent scholars from the US, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India.
iv. To build a cohesive social and cultural structure in India and to bring about spiritual alliance of Hinduism and Islam.

4. INDIA SUCCESSFULLY TEST-FIRES AGNI-III BALLISTIC MISSILE
i. India has successfully test-fired 3000 kilometre range Agni-III ballistic missile. It has launched from Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast.
ii. The test was carried by the Strategic Forces Command with logistics support from Defence Research Development Organisation.
iii. The test was aimed at re-establishing the operational effectiveness of the weapon system.
iv. This Surface-to-Surface nuclear capable intermediate-range ballistic missile can hit targets in the range of around 3000 km. It can carry a warhead of 1.5 tonne which is protected by carbon all composite heat shield.

5. FINANCE MINISTER ARUN JAITLEY’S FIVE DAYS VISIT TO USA
i. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was on an official visit to United States. During his visit, he attended the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, participated in a G-20 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and interacted with high profile American investors.
ii. Mr. Jaitley also attended a meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee on Global Development and Prospects.

6. YES BANK RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD 2017 FOR INNOVATIVE PRODUCT
i. Yes Bank has won the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock Innovative Product / Service Award 2017’.
ii. It gets the award for its innovative mobile technology product, SIMsePAY at the Dubai Global Convention.
iii. Each application was assessed by an Assessment Group comprising of Quality, Business Excellence and Training experts.

7. INDIA WINS 16 MEDALS AT US OPEN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP
i. India has won 16 medals at US Open karate Championship held in Las Vegas. India grabbed 3 gold 2 silver and 11 bronze medals.
ii. India also won a gold medal in the team event. Shaifali Agarwal, Abhishek Sengupta won a gold medal, silver in 2 different individual events.

8. WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY IS OBSERVED: 26TH APRIL, 2017
i. World Intellectual Property Day is observed on April 26, 2017. The Day was organized by World Intellectual Property Organization. It aims to learn about the role that intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright) play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
ii. Theme for 2017 was “Innovation – Improving Lives“.
