1.    Mandatory linkage of Aadhar for PMVVY
ü Union Ministry of Finance has made it mandatory to submit the proof of Aadhaar number of senior citizens who have invested in the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY). PMVVY is a senior citizen pension scheme launched by the govt. on May 4, 2017, as a way of providing additional investment to senior citizens.
ü Investment of upto Rs. 15 lakhs can be made in this scheme.
ü Life Insurance Corporation(LIC) of India is the sole operator of PMVVY.

2.    India to cross 100-GW renewable energy capacity
ü Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy (MoP,NRE) Shri Raj Kumar Singh has announced that India is likely to cross its 100 GigaWatt (GW) energy capacity mark in 2020.


3.    More than 1 crore houses sanctioned under PMAY(U)
ü As per the Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs ,the Centre has approved construction of 6.5 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-PMAY (Urban).
ü With this, Government will sanction all the 1.12 crore houses under affordable housing programme – PMAY (Urban), a target set by the centre & deliver them to the beneficiaries by 2022.

4.     “Eat Right Station”
ü The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station of Mumbai, Maharashtra has been conferred with ‘Eat Right Station’ certification with the four-star rating by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for food safety and hygiene. With this, CSMT becomes the first Central Railway station to get this certification.

5.    20th Financial Stability Report (FSR)
ü According to the 20th issue of the Financial Stability Report (FSR) 2019 released by Reserve Bank of India(RBI), the gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio of all scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) can increase from 9.3% in September 2019 to 9.9 % in September 2020 due to changes in macroeconomic conditions, modest growth in new NPAs and the impact of declining credit growth rate.

6.    SBI OTP-based cash withdrawal system
ü State Bank of India going to provide secure banking to its customers by launching new OTP(one-time-password ) based ATM withdrawal of above Rs 10,000  during 8 PM to 8 AM. The new system will be implemented across the country from 1 January 2020.

7.    CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award
ü Krishnamachari Srikkanth Former Indian cricket team captain & former Indian women’s Cricket team captain Anjum Chopra (42) will be the recipient of prestigious Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s CK Nayudu Lifetime Award for the year 2019.
ü Anjum Chopra became the first Indian player to score an ODI century for India, first captain to win a Test Series abroad, first player to play 100 ODIs for India.

8.    Most famous teenager of the decade
ü Malala Yousafzai a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize (2014) laureate, was named as “the most famous teenager in the world” by the United Nations (UN) in its ‘Decade in Review’ report .

9.    Book -“Politics of Opportunism”
ü Book titled “Politics of Opportunism” written by R P N (Ratanjit Pratap Narain ) Singh former Intelligence Bureau(IB) officer.

10. Tropical Cyclone Sarai 
ü Tropical Cyclone Sarai has lashed the Pacific island nation Fiji, with 140km/h winds forcing hundreds of people to evacuate to higher ground ahead of possible flooding.
