1.    Exercise-‘Matla Abhiyaan’
ü Indian Navy has carried out coastal security exercise called, ‘Matla Abhiyaan’ at Sunderban region in KolkataWest Bengal with the aim to create awareness about the coastal security.

2.    World Sustainable Development Summit
ü Prakash Javadekar was inaugurated World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2020 based on the theme “Towards 2030 Goals: Making the Decade Count” at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
The summit was organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

3.    Maldives readmitted to Commonwealth family
ü Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Maldives announced that Maldives has once again become a member of the Commonwealth family after the meeting between Abdullah Shahid, Foreign Minister of Maldives & Patricia Scotland, Secretary General of the Commonwealth.


4.    India become 2nd largest smartphone market
ü As per Counterpoint Research’s Market Monitor service report, India surpassed the United States(US) for the first time to become the 2nd largest smartphone market in the world.

5.    MSME Excellence Award
ü Amulya Mica (Purbanchal Laminates Pvt Ltd), was chosen as the Most Promising Brand of the Year Award 2019, Gold Category during the 7th edition of the MSME Excellence Award. 

6.    Implementation of PMMVY
ü Madhya Pradesh (MP) state won the 1st position for its implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Smriti Zubin Irani presented the award to MP; Indore (Madhya Pradesh) has also won 1st place for better performance in PMMVY.

7.    New PM of Iraq
ü Mohammed Allawi  appointed as the Iraq’s new Prime Minister (PM) by its President Barhim Salih. He was the successor of Adil Abdul-Mahdi who resigned in November 2019 due to anti-government protests.

8.    Gopal Baglay appointed as Next High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka

9.    President of Paralympic Committee of India 
ü India’s lone woman Paralympic medalist Deepa Malik was elected as President of the Paralympic Committee of India. He was the successor of the acting interim president Gursharan Singh.

10. Official Mascot for 36th National Games

ü The Flame-Throated Bulbul or Rubigula bird the state bird for Goa, which is officially declared as the Mascot for the 36th National Games going to held in Panaji, Goa.

11. Australian open 2020
ü Australian open 2020, a Grand Slam tennis tournament was held at Melbourne, Australia.The tournament marks the 108th edition of the slam and the 52nd edition in the Open Era.
