1. ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT ABHIYAAN PART-4
·        The Part 4 of “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan” (self-reliant India Movement) is consisted of structural reforms in the eight sectors of Coal, Minerals, Defence production, Civil Aviation, Power Sector, Social Infrastructure, Space and Atomic energy.
·        The aim is to boost economic growth, and create jobs.
Following are the details of the fourth tranche of package starting with Coal Sector:
·        Coal Sector: Rs 50,000 cr infused for building evacuation infrastructure
·        Mineral sector: Mineral Index for different minerals to be developed
·        Defence sector: FDI to be raised from 49% to 74%
2. ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT ABHIYAAN PART-5
·        The Part 5 of “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan” (self-reliant India Movement) is focused on seven areas viz. MNREGA, Health and Education, Business during Covid, Decriminalisation of Company Act, Ease of doing business, Policy related to Public Sector Units, State government and resources related to it.
Following are the details of the fifth and final tranche of package:
 –Rs 40,000 crores increase in allocation for MGNREGS to provide employment boost
·        Under the MNREGA scheme, an additional Rs 40,000 crore will be allocated for employment generation in the rural parts of the country. This will help to generate nearly 300 crore person days to provide relief to the migrant workers.


–Health Reforms & Initiatives
·        Research will be encouraged through National Institutional Platform for One health by ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research).
·        The blueprint of National Digital Health Mission will be implemented.

–Technology Driven Education with Equity post-COVID by launching PM eVIDYA
·        A programe named “PM eVIDYA” is to be launched immediately. It is a multi-mode access to online education consisting of:
·        DIKSHA for school education in states/UTs: e-content and QR coded
·        Energized Textbooks for all grades (one nation, one digital platform)
·        One earmarked TV channel per class from 1 to 12 (one class, one channel)
·        Extensive use of Radio, Community radio and Podcasts
·        Special e-content for visually and hearing impaired.
·        Top 100 universities will be permitted to automatically start online courses by 30th May, 2020.
·        Manodarpan– It is an initiative for psychosocial support of students, teachers and families for mental health and emotional wellbeing to be launched immediately.
–Enhancement of Ease of Doing business through IBC related measures
·        Minimum threshold to initiate insolvency proceedings raised to Rs. 1 crore from Rs. 1 lakh along with creation of special insolvency resolution framework for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under Section 240A of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC).
3. BENJAMIN NETANYAHU SWORN-IN FOR THE 5TH TIME
·        Benjamin Netanyahu has been sworn as the Israel Prime Minister (PM) for the 5th time after signing of power-sharing deal with rival-turned-partner Benny Gantz of Blue and White Party.
·        He will now chair the post until 13 November 2021.
4. ITALY DEVELOPS ‘IFEEL-YOU’ BRACELET
·        The Genoa-based Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) has developed “i-Feel you”, an intelligent bracelet which will help users respect social distancing rules.
·        The bracelet can measure social distance in a much more precise manner than a mobile application (app) and it does not track geolocation hence has little effect on privacy.
·        The bracelet uses a radio signal only when another bracelet is approaching and does not use GPS (Global Positioning System), hence cannot not keep track of the user’s locations.
5. CANARA BANK LAUNCHES SPECIAL GOLD LOAN BUSINESS VERTICAL
·        Canara Bank has launched a special business vertical dedicated for gold loans to meet the financial needs of its customers as they are in need of immediate credit support to meet their emergency needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
·        The bank has launched a gold loan campaign till 30th June, 2020 with an interest rate as low as 7.85% per annum minimum turnaround time (TAT) .
6. GENERAL ATLANTIC BUYS 1.34% STAKE IN JIO PLATFORMS
·        Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) announced  the sale of 1.34% stake in its digital services subsidiary, Jio Platforms to global Private Equity (PE) firm General Atlantic for Rs 6,598.38 crores, to accelerate consumer business and cut debt.
·        After this investment Jio Platforms will have an equity value of Rs 4.91 trillion and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 trillion.
·        This deal is the 4th one in  less than four weeks(within a month)  with this investment RIL has raised Rs 67,194.75 crores by selling 14.8%  in Jio.
·        Strategic and financial investors are to form 20% of Jio Platforms.
7. NEW SPECIES OF FUNGUS ‘TROGLOMYCES TWITTERI’
·        Ana Sofia Reboleira, a biologist from the University of Copenhagen’s Natural History Museum of Denmark, has discovered a new species of a parasitic fungus ‘Troglomyces Twitteri’ by using a image of North American millipede (Cambala annulata) circulating on social media platform Twitter.
·        fungi live on the outside of host organisms; here, on the reproductive organs of millipedes.

11. SPECIAL POSTAL COVER DEDICATED TO MIGRANT WORKERS
·        In a bid to tribute migrant workers, India post, Mumbai has released a Special Postal Cover dedicated to migrant workers at the Bicentennial Hall of the historic ,Mumbai, Maharashtra.
·        The five migrant workers from different sectors such as two from construction sector, a taxi driver, a jewelry craftsman and a tailor were called to release the postal cover. India post, Department of Posts (DoP), which comes under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, headquartered in New Delhi.
·        Also Madhya Pradesh launched Charan Paduka campaign for migrant labourers passing through the states in which barefoot migrants are provided with shoes and slippers.
