1.       WANGALA – “THE FESTIVAL OF 100 DRUMS” CELEBRATED IN MEGHALAYA

·         Meghalaya state observed the ‘Wangala’, the festival of 100 Drums Festival. 

·         It is a post harvest festival of the Garos tribe which is being held every year to honour ‘Saljong’, the Sun God of Garos, which also marks the end of the harvest season.

 

2.       DANIEL ORTEGA WINS PRESIDENT TERM OF NICARAGUA

·         José Daniel Ortega Saavedra, won his fourth consecutive presidential term in Nicaragua elections.

·         According to the  Supreme Electoral Council of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega won the election with 75% of the total votes polled.

·         Nicaragua is a Central American country, which is nicknamed as “The Land of Lakes and Volcanoes”.Capital– Managua.

3.       SOUTH AFRICA’S LAST WHITE PRESIDENT – FREDERIK WILLEM DE KLERK DIES

·         The former president of South Africa, Frederik Willem de Klerk passed away

·         De Klerk is the last white President of South Africa, who was known for ending the Apartheid

·         De Klerk shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Nelson Mandela in 1993 for helping to negotiate an end to apartheid.

 

4.       WORLD PNEUMONIA DAY 2021 – NOVEMBER 12 

·         World Pneumonia Day is annually observed across the globe on November 12th to create awareness about pneumonia, the world’s leading infection that kills children under the age of 5.
