chess Grandmaster (GM) Koneru Humpy clinched
the title on tiebreaks after tying with Chinese GM Zhu Jiner at 7/9 points.

Humpy secured the top position due to
superior tie-break scores .

The FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2024–25 is a
series of six tournaments organized by FIDE.

2ND ASIAN YOGASANA SPORT
CHAMPIONSHIP
·
India
achieved an outstanding victory at the 2nd Asian Yogasana Sport
Championship, held in New Delhi
·
The event
featured participation from 21 countries, including Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri
Lanka (SL), Uzbekistan, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Bhutan, China, Iran, South Korea,
Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), among others.

India topped the medal tally by winning a
record of 83 gold medals along with 3
silver and 1 bronze.
Japan finished in second
place with 3 gold, 3 silver, and
4 bronze medals
·
Mongolia secured
third place with 1 gold, 11 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

RBI
CANCELLED LICENCE OF AJANTHA URBAN CO-OPERATIVE BANK
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cancelled
the banking licence of Aurangabad
(Maharashtra)-based Ajantha Urban Co-operative
Bank Maryadit under the Banking Regulation Act,
1949, citing inadequate capital, poor earning prospects, and non-compliance with regulatory norms.
·
Upon liquidation, each
depositor is entitled to receive up to Rs 5 lakh from
the Mumbai(Maharashtra) based
·
Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee
Corporation (DICGC) as per the DICGC
Act, 1961.
91.55% of the depositors are eligible to receive
the full amount of their deposits under the
insurance scheme.

RBI
CANCELS LICENSE OF IMPERIAL URBAN CO-OP BANK
·
RBI has cancelled
the license of the Jalandhar(Punjab)-based Imperial
Urban Co-operative Bank as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
·
The Registrar of Cooperative Societies,
Government of Punjab has also been requested to issue an order for winding up
of the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank.
