1. ILO-NASK
REPORT 2025
·
Geneva (Switzerland)-based International Labour Organisation (ILO) in
collaboration with Poland-based National Research Institute (NASK) released
their inaugural report titled ‘Generative AI and Jobs: A Refined
Global Index of Occupational Exposure’.
·
As per
the report, one in four jobs (25%) across
the world is potentially at the risk of being transformed by Generative
Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
·
The
report further showed that 34% of jobs in occupations exposed GenAI are in High-Income Countries
(HICs) compared to 11% in Low-Income Countries (LICs).
·
The
report provides a comprehensive overview of how AI could transform occupations
and employment worldwide by combining approximately 30,000 occupational tasks
with expert validation, AI-assisted scoring, and ILO harmonized micro data.
·
The
report revealed that exposure among women remains to be significantly higher than men as 4.7% of
women’s jobs worldwide fall into the highest-risk category, compared with 2.4% of such jobs among men.
2. WMO
GLOBAL TEMPERATURE REPORT 2025-29
·
The
Geneva (Switzerland) based World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
released its Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update (2025–2029), projecting
a significant likelihood of global temperatures temporarily
surpassing the 1.5 degree Celsius (°C) threshold above
pre-industrial levels (1850–1900) within the next five years.

Each year from 2025 to 2029 is expected to
witness an average global near-surface temperature rise between 1.2°C
and 1.9°C above the 1850–1900 base line.
·
There is an 80% chance that at least one year
in 2025 to 2029 will surpass 2024 as the warmest year on record.
·
The current central estimate for the 20-year
average warming (2015–2034) is 1.44°C, with a 90% confidence range of 1.22°C to
1.54°C.
3. INDIAN
ARMY'S FIRST COMMUNITY RADIO STATION
·
Indian
Army (IA) inaugurated “Panchshul Pulse”, the IA’s first
Community Radio Station (CRS), operating on 88.4 FM (Frequency
Modulation) radio in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ to enhance
community engagement and promote regional culture.

‘Panchshul Pulse’ is named after the Panchshul mountain
range and aims to strengthen ties between the Indian Army, civil
administration, and border communities.
·
Tagline – Hill Se Dil Tak (From Hills to
Heart)
·
Operation
Sadbhavana launched by the IA in
1998, aimed at fostering goodwill and development
in remote and border areas through various community-centric projects.
4. KIBG
2025: MANIPUR TOPS MEDAL TALLY
·
The Khelo
India Beach Games (KIBG) 2025, India’s
first national-level beach sports event, was held in Diu, Union
Territory (UT) of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
·
Manipur secured the top spot with 14 medals (5
gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze), followed by Maharashtra with
20 medals (5 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze) and Nagaland finished
third with 13 medals (5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze).

Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

This win
marks Tottenham’s first European title since 1984
7. ISSF
JUNIOR WORLD CUP 2025
·
The
International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior
World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun 2025 (1st
leg) concluded in Suhl, Germany,
·
India emerged as the top
performer with a total of 11 medals,
comprising 3 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze, followed by China with 4
medals.
·
This
event witnessed participation from 638 shooters representing 59 countries, with
India has the largest team of 57 shooters.
·
The second
leg (last leg) of ISSF Junior World Cup 2025 will be held in New
Delhi India inSeptemberr 2025.
·
Tejaswani Sawant, representing India, secured the gold medal
in the women’s 25 metre (m) pistol event
·

MASTERS BADMINTON 2025
·
The 2025
Malaysia Masters, officially titled the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2025
organised by Badminton Association of Malaysia, was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
·
In the men’s singles final, world no. 4 Li Shifeng of China defeated
India’s Kidambi Srikanth
·
The
women’s singles title was claimed by Wang Zhiyi (China),
who overcame her compatriot Han Yue
9. JANUSZ
KUSOCINSKI MEMORIAL – POLAND
·
NeerajChopra, secured a silver
medal in the men’s javelin throw event at the 71st edition of
the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial (2025), held in Chorzow,
Poland.
·
Neeraj
Chopra secured second place with a throw of 84.14 metres (m) on his sixth and
final attempt in wet and challenging conditions.
·
Germany’s Julian Weber clinched the gold medal
with a best effort of 86.12 m, while Anderson Peters of Grenada secured third
place with 83.24 m.
10. RBI
PAYMENTS REGULATORY BOARD TO OVERSEE
PAYMENT SYSTEMS IN INDIA
·
The
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officially notified the
formation of a six-member Payments Regulatory Board (PRB) under
the Payments Regulatory Board Regulations, 2025 to regulate and
supervise payment systems in India.
·
This new
board replaces the existing Board for Regulation and Supervision
of Payment and Settlement Systems (BPSS).
·
