1.       ‘BHARAT’ TAXI SERVICE

·         India’s cooperative sector plans to launch a taxi service under the brand name ‘Bharat’ by December 2025.

·         This newly announced initiative is supported by Rs 300 crore authorised capital and having already onboarded 200 drivers, with 50 each from 4 states: Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Maharashtra.

·         The Government of India (GoI) has formed the Multi-State Sahakari Taxi Cooperative Limited, registered officially on June 06, 2025, represents a consortium of 8 prominent cooperatives which include.

·         National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO).

·         Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED).

·         National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd. (NCCF),The Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd. (KSCMF),The Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd. (RAJFED).

·         The Maharashtra State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd. (MAHAFED).

·         NABARD was established under NABARD Act, 1981. It works under the jurisdiction of Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance (MoF). It was formally established in 1982 based on the recommendations of B.Sivaramman Committee.

2.       INDIA - UN PROJECTS FOR ASIA, AFRICA AND THE CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES

·         The Government of India (GoI) launched the 1st phase of four development projects under the “India- United Nations (UN) Global Capacity Building Initiative” to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) for nine partner countries.

·         Partner Countries: Nepal, Zambia, Laos, Belize, Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and South Sudan.

·         UN Supporting bodies: WFP, UNDP, UN Population and UNESCO.

·         It was announced during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) as part of India’s G20 Presidency legacy, in September 2023, by Dr.Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister(EAM).

·         The selected training courses are scheduled to start by September 2025 under the ITEC framework.

 

3.       NITI AAYOG LAUNCHES INDIA ELECTRIC MOBILITY INDEX

·         The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog launched the report titled ‘India Electric Mobility Index(IEMI) 2024 – Tracking Electric Mobility Trends in Indian States.

·         The IEMI, a first-of-its kind tool developed to track and benchmark the progress of states and Union Territories (UTs) in achieving their Electric Mobility goals.

·         The IEMI tracks, evaluates, and scores all Indian States and UTs out of 100 across 16 indicators under 3 core themes.

·         Based on the IEMI scores, states are categorised into frontrunners (leading with robust ecosystems), performers (making progress) and aspirants (requiring intervention).

·         Frontrunners (Score: 65-99): Delhi, Maharashtra and Chandigarh.

·         Performers (Score: 50-64): Karnataka, Tamil Nadu (TN) and Haryana.

·         Aspirants (Score: 0-49):  Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh(UP), Ladakh, Andhra Pradesh(AP), and others are lagging in their e-mobility initiatives and require targeted interventions.

 

4.       KARTAVYA BHAVAN INAUGURATES IN NEW DELHI

·         Prime Minister (PMNarendraModi inaugurates Kartavya Bhavan-03 at Kartavya Path, in New Delhi.

·         It is the first among the several upcoming Common Central Secretariat (CCS) buildings to streamline administrative processes and enable agile governance.

·         It is an office complex building with total area of approximately 1.5 lakh square metres(sq m) with 2 basement levels and 7 floor levels.

 

5.       PUNJAB -FIRST STATE TO EMPANEL LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

·         Dr.Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Security, Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab, announced the empanelment of sign language experts, translators, and special educators under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, to ensure access of the judicial system to all the sections of the society.

·         With this move, Punjab has become the first state in India to empanel sign language experts under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

·         Act: Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, 2012.

 

6.       FIRST EVER BIMSTEC TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

·         Union Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), inaugurated the first-ever Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Traditional Music Festival, organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)  in New Delhi.

·         The event was held under the theme “SaptaSur: Seven Nations, One Melody”, symbolizing both the seven classical musical notes in Indian tradition and the seven BIMSTEC countries.

·         Music Artists from seven BIMSTEC countries, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, performed at the event, representing their traditional musical forms.

 

7.       NITI AAYOG REPORT ON ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN INDIA”

·         National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, launched a report titled “Unlocking a USD 200 Billion Opportunity: Electric Vehicles in India”. 

·         The report serves as a strategic roadmap to help India achieve a 30% share of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in total vehicle sales by 2030.

·         As per the report, the sale of EVs in India has increased from 50,000 in 2016 to 2.08 million in 2024, making India stand 6th globally, while the global sales have increased from 918,000 in 2016 to 18.78 million in 2024.

·         The report describes the EV transition in India as slow to start, with the EV penetration of India, being one-fifth of the global penetration in 2020 to over two-fifth of penetration in 2024.

·         In 2024, the sale of EV vehicles is 7.6% of the total vehicles, which has taken 5 years. To achieve the goal of reaching 30% sales of EV by 2030, India must increase the annual sales of EV vehicles by 22% till 2030.

 

8.       INDIA-RUSSIA SIGN PACT TO STRENGTHEN INDUSTRIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL TIES

·         India and Russia have signed a Protocol to deepen industrial and technological cooperation, reaffirming their strategic partnership during the 11th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization & Industrial Cooperation, held.

·         The protocol aims to strengthen collaboration in aluminium, fertilizers, and railway transport, while promoting capacity building and technology transfer in the mining sector, covering equipment, exploration, and industrial and domestic waste representatives.

 

9.       INDIA NOMINATES ‘SARNATH’ TO UNESCO FOR 2025-26 CYCLE

·         Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Ministry of Culture (MoC), Government of India (GOI), has nominated “Sarnath”, an ancient Buddhist site for inscription on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List for the 2025-26 cycle.

·         World Heritage Convention, 1972:  Under the Convention, each State Party can nominate only one site per year for inscription on the World Heritage List.

·         The nomination process takes approximately 1.5 years from the date of submission.

·         Sarnath is situated at the confluence of the Rivers Ganga and Varuna in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh (UP).

·         Gautama Buddha delivered his first religious speech (first sermon) in Sarnath, following the attainment of enlightenment at Bodh Gaya (Bihar), marking the birth of Buddhist community.

 

10.    NITI AAYOG’S AIM AND DIBD SIGN SOI TO PROMOTE VERNACULAR INNOVATION

·         The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of National Institution for Transforming India(NITI Aayog) signed the Statement of Intent (SoI) with the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeITY) to foster vernacular innovation and enhance Indian language inclusivity in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

·         It aims to focus on strategies to integrate Indian language technology into AIM’s nationwide programs.

·         The content from the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Academy on intellectual property rights (IPR) will be translated into multiple Indian languages using DIBD’s advanced AI-powered translation tools.

 

11.    INDIA’S FIRST SMART INTELLIGENT VILLAGE TO BE IN SATNAVRI, NAGPUR

·         Satnavri, a small village with around 1,800 residents in rural Nagpur, Maharashtra, is set to become India’s first Smart Intelligent Village.

·         This initiative integrates cutting-edge technologies into everyday rural life, including drone-assisted farming, smart irrigation, mobile banking, digitised schools, and advanced surveillance systems.

 

12.    IATA: INDIAN EMERGED AS WORLD’S 5TH BIGGEST AVIATION MARKET

·         The International Air Transport Association (IATA), released the latest edition of the World Airport Transport Statistics (WATS) for 2024.

·         As per the report, India ranked as the world’s 5th largest aviation market in 2024, handling 211 million passengers, marking an 11.1% year-on-year(Y-o-Y) growth from 2023.

·         The United States of America (USA) continues to be the world’s biggest aviation market with 876 million passengers in 2024, driven by its domestic air travel network, marking 5.2% Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth rate.

·         It is followed by China (741 million passengers) and the United Kingdom (UK) (261 million passengers) ranked at 2nd and 3rd spots, respectively.

·         In Asia-Pacific region topped among the world’s busiest airports, with Jeju-Seoul Gimpo(CJU-GMP) in South Korea emerged as the most popular route globally, with 13.2 million passengers flying between two airports in 2024.

·         Mumbai-Delhi route ranked 7th among the world’s top 10 busiest airport pairs, carrying 5.9 million passengers in 2024.

·         As per the report, The Boeing 737 (all variants) topped usage in 2024 with 10 million flights and generated 2.4 trillion Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), a key indicator used to measure airline capacity.
