NATIONAL LEGAL SERVICES DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 9
·
National
Legal Services Day (NLSD) is annually observed
across India on 9th November to promote legal
awareness and equitable access to justice for all, especially the marginalized,
reinforcing the government’s commitment to “Access to Justice for All.”
·
The
idea to celebrate NLSD annually was first proposed by Dr. Justice
A.S. Anand, the then Executive Chairman of NALSA, during the first Annual
Meet of the State Legal Services Authorities held on 12th September 1998 in New
Delhi.
·
First Observation: The first NLSD was observed on 9th
November 1995.
·

WORLD SCIENCE DAY FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT 2025 – NOVEMBER

·
The
United Nations (UN)’s World Science Day for Peace and Development is
observed annually across the globe on 10th November to
highlight the role of science in society and encourages public engagement with
emerging scientific issues.
·
2025 Theme: “Trust,
Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050”.
·
International Week of Science and Peace(IWOSP) 2025:The IWOSP is observed every year
from November 9 to 15 to highlight the role of
science in promoting peace and sustainable development.

WORLD IMMUNIZATION DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 10
·
World Immunization Day is annually observed across the globe on 10th
November to raise awareness about the life-saving importance of
vaccines in preventing infectious diseases and protecting people of all ages.
·
The day emphasizes the
role of immunization in reducing global mortality and achieving universal
vaccine access under the World Health Organization’s (WHO)
Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030).
·
World Immunization Week 2025 was observed in the last week of April 2025 (24–30
April) under the theme “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible.”
·
The Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) is a global strategy launched by the
WHO for the decade 2021-2030.
·

NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 11
·
National
Education Day (NED) is observed every year on 11
November across India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana
Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of independent
India.
·
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Born on 11 November 1888 in
Mecca, Saudi Arabia, he later settled in Kolkata, West Bengal (WB).
·
He
was elected President of the Indian National Congress (INC) twice in the
year 1923 and again in the year 1940.
·
After
Independence, he became the first Minister of Education
(1947–1958) under the then Prime Minister (PM) Jawaharlal Nehru.
·
He
was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, in
1992 for his remarkable contributions as a freedom fighter,
scholar, and educationist.

PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 12
·
Public
Service Broadcasting Day (PSBD), also known as ‘Jan Prasaran
Divas’, is observed annually across India on 12th November to
commemorate the first and only live broadcast by Mahatma Gandhi,
the Father of the Nation, on All India Radio (AIR) now known
as Akashvani, in New Delhi, in 1947.
·
In
1947, After the partition of India and Pakistan, Mahatma Gandhi visited the AIR
studios at Broadcasting House, New Delhi, to address refugees from Pakistan who
were camped in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
·
AIR
is India’s state-owned national public radio broadcaster under
Prasar Bharati(PB).

WORLD PNEUMONIA DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 12
·
World Pneumonia Day is observed annually on 12th November to
raise awareness about pneumonia, a preventable and treatable respiratory
infection that still claims millions of lives worldwide.
·
2025 Theme: “Child Survival” .
·
Pneumonia is a serious lung infection that can be caused by bacteria,
viruses, or fungi.
·
It
causes inflammation of the air sacs in the lungs making it difficult to breathe
and get oxygen into the bloodstream.
·

Established- 1946.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY 2025– NOVEMBER 13
·
World
Kindness Day (WKD) is observed every year across the
globe on November 13 to promote kindness,
compassion, and empathy toward people, animals, and the environment, showing
how small acts can strengthen communities.
·
The
day was introduced by the World Kindness Movement (WKM) which is
an international coalition of non-governmental organizations founded following
a 1997 conference in Tokyo, Japan.
·
World Kindness Movement (WKM) was formed at a conference in Tokyo
on 20th September 1997.
·
The
WKM eventually expanded to 27 countries and in 2019, WKM was registered as an
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Switzerland.

WORLD DIABETES DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 14
·
The
United Nations (UN) commemorates World Diabetes Day (WDD) every
year on 14 November to raise global awareness about
the impact of diabetes, the importance of prevention, early diagnosis,
effective treatment, and equitable access to care.
·
2025 Theme: “Diabetes
across life stages”.
·
WDD
was established in 1991 by the International
Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to address
the growing health threat posed by diabetes.
·
The
first UN-recognized World Diabetes Day was observed on 14 November
2007.
·
Blue circle,
introduced by IDF in 2006 as the universal symbol of diabetes.
·
14 November marks the birth anniversary of Sir Frederick Grant Banting,
the Canadian scientist who co-discovered insulin in 1922.
·
He, along with John
James Rickard Macleod, received the 1923 Nobel Prize in
Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of insulin.
