1. DIRECTOR
GENERAL OF GSI
·
Varsha Ashok Aglawe assumed
charge as the 54th Director General (DG) of
the Geological Survey of India (GSI) under
the Ministry of Mines (MoM), Government of India (GoI).
·
She is the first woman to
head the organisation in its 176-year history.
2. DEPUTY
CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF
·
Vice Admiral
AN Pramod assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of
Naval Staff (DCNS) of the Indian Navy (IN).
·
He succeeds Vice
Admiral Tarun Sobti.
3. ACTING
CENTRAL VIGILANCE COMMISSIONER
·
A S Rajeev,
serving as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC),
assumed charge as the Acting Central
Vigilance Commissioner.
·
He
succeeded Praveen Kumar Srivastava.
4. RBI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
appointed Monisha Chakraborty as an Executive Director (ED).
·
She
will oversee the Foreign Exchange
Department (FED) and the Financial
Markets Regulation Department (FMRD).
·
RBI Established
on 1st April 1935 under the RBI
Act, 1934, the RBI was nationalised
on 1st January 1949.
5. SEBI
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
·
Prasanta Mahapatra assumed
charge as an Executive Director (ED) of the Securities and
Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
·
He will oversee the Corporation Finance
Investigation Department(CFID) and
the Recovery and Refund Department(RRD).
·
SEBI Established
as a non-statutory body on 12th April
1988, SEBI was granted statutory
powers on 30th January 1992 under the SEBI Act, 1992.
·
Headquartered in
Mumbai.
6. PM-VBRY
COMPLETES 1 YEAR
·
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) completed
one year of implementation, with more than 72 lakh first-time employees joining the formal
workforce since its launch in August 2025.
·
PM-VBRY is
being implemented from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027 with
a total financial outlay of Rs. 99,446 crore.
·
It is implemented by the Ministry of Labour
& Employment (MoL&E) through the Employees’ Provident
Fund Organisation (EPFO).
·
It consists of 2 parts Employees
focused, provides financial assistance to first-time employees
entering the formal workforce.
·
Employer Focused: Provides incentives to
establishments/employers that create additional employment.
7. INDIA’S
101ST RAMSAR SITE
·
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate
Change (MoEF&CC) officially designated Glaw
Lake in the Tawang
district of Arunachal Pradesh (AR) as India’s 101st
Ramsar Site, recognizing it as a Wetland
of International Importance (Ramsar List) under the Ramsar Convention on
Wetlands, 1971.
·
With
this designation, AR received
its first Ramsar Site.
·
Glaw Lake is a pristine freshwater lake in the Eastern Himalayas, situated within
the Kamlang Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary.
