1. BIHAR GOVERNMENT BANNED 15-YEAR-OLD DIESEL VEHICLES IN PATNA
i. Bihar government banned 15-year-old diesel vehicles in the Capital city Patna.
ii. The decision is taken in to decrease pollution.
iii. The Bihar State Pollution Control Board has stated that the air quality index of Patna has broken all its past record.

2. GAUTAM H BAMBAWALE APPOINTED AS INDIA'S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO PAKISTAN
i. Gautam H Bambawale was appointed as the High Commissioner of India to Pakistan.
ii. He is presently serving on  the post of  Indian ambassador to Bhutan.
iii. Gautam H Bambawale will replace TCA Raghavan who will retire on 31st december2015.

3. UNION GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED TWO MOBILE APPS FOR FARMERS
i. Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh launched two mobile apps namely Crop Insurance and AgriMarket Mobile.
ii. The apps were launched to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Choudhary Charan Singh.
iii. The Mobile app Crop Insurance will help the farmers to find out complete details about insurance cover available in their area and to calculate the insurance premium for notified crops.
iv. Mobile app AgriMarket Mobile can be used by the farmers to get the market prices of crops in the mandi within 50 km radius of the device and other mandis in the country.

4. PAWAN KUMAR AGARWAL APPOINTED AS CEO OF FSSAI
i. Pawan Kumar Agarwal appointed as Chief Executive Officer of food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
ii. He will replace Yudhvir Singh Malik, who was shifted as Additional Secretary in Niti ayog.
iii. Yudhvir singh Malik is believed to be the man behind the ban on popular noodle brand Maggi, which has now been removed.

5. PANDORUM TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED INDIA’S FIRST ARTIFICIAL LIVER TISSUE USING 3D PRINTING
i. Pandorum Technologies Private Limited developed India’s first artificial liver tissue with the help of 3-D printing technology.
ii. The development is a major step forward in the on-demand manufacturing of 3D printed human organs.
iii. The artificial liver tissue performs critical functions of a human liver including, metabolism, secretion of biochemical’s such as cholesterol and albumin and detoxification.

6. DR. RAKESH K. JAIN SELECTED FOR 2015 NATIONAL MEDAL OF SCIENCE
i. Indian American professor Dr. Rakesh K. Jain has been selected for 2015 National Medal of Science of the United States.
ii. He will be presented this top award for his achievement and leadership in advancing the fields of science and technology
iii. National Medal of Science is an annual award established in 1959 by U.S Government.

7. RBI EXTENDS DEADLINE TO EXCHANGE PRE-2005 NOTES TO JUNE 30, 2016
i. Reserve Bank of India has extended the deadline for exchanging pre-2005 currency notes of different denominations by another six months to June 30, 2016.
ii. Facility for exchanging pre-2005 currency notes will only be available at identified bank branches and Issue Offices of the RBI.
iii. Earlier RBI had set the last date for public to exchange pre-2005 banknotes notes as December 31, 2015

8. 24TH DECEMBER IS OBSERVED AS NATIONAL CONSUMER DAY
i. National Consumer Day is observed on 24th December.
ii. The day is observed on 24th because on this day the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the President

iii. The Act aims to provide consumers with effective safeguards against different types of exploitation such as defective goods, unsatisfactory services and unfair trade practices.
