1.UN ANNOUNCED 5TH NOVEMBER AS WORLD TSUNAMI AWARENESS DAY
i.The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution to observe 5th November every year as World Tsunami Awareness Day.
ii.The observance of the day will help to spread awareness among people across the world in matters related to the dangers of tsunami.

2.BIOCON LAUNCHED GENERIC VERSION OF HEPATITIS-C DRUG HARVONI IN INDIA
i. Biocon Limited launched the generic version of hepatitis – C drug in the Indian market.
ii.The generic version of the drug named Harvoni will be sold under the brand name CIMIVIR-L.
iii.Hepatitis-C is a viral disease that causes liver inflammation leading to diminished liver function or liver failure.

3.IDEA BECAME THIRD MOBILE OPERATOR TO LAUNCH 4G SERVICES IN INDIA
i. Idea Cellular became the third mobile operator in India to launch 4G services in India.
ii. Earlier the Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India had launched 4G services in India.

4.LOK SABHA PASSES BILL TO HIKE BONUS LIMIT
i.The Lok Sabha has passed the Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Bill, 2015 which  will allow doubling of wage ceiling for calculating bonus of factory workers.
ii.The Bill will amend the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965.
iii.The Bill provides for enhancing monthly bonus calculation ceiling to Rs 7,000 per month from the existing Rs 3,500.
iv.The amendment bill will be made effective from April 1, 2015

5.CCEA APPROVES RS 3,000 CRORE SCHEME FOR FISHERIES SECTOR
i.Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme for development and management of fisheries.
ii.The Scheme is sponsored by central government on Blue Revolution that will be implemented  with an outlay of 3,000 crore rupees for a period of five years
iii.The scheme will cover will initiatives for development and management of inland fisheries, aquaculture and marine fisheries

6. NORTH INDIA'S FIRST CABLE BRIDGE INAUGURATED AT BASOHALI TOWN OF J&K
i.Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar dedicated the first cable bridge of North India to the nation  in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir  .
ii.The 592-metre bridge was constructed over river Ravi on Dunera- Basohli-Bhadharwah road.
iii.It would provide close connectivity between three northern states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
iv. It is fourth Cable Bridge in India and first in North India and Jammu and Kashmir.

7. ZIMBABWE ANNOUNCED TO ADOPT CHINESE CURRENCY YUAN
i. Zimbabwe announced it is going to adopt the Chinese Yuan as legal tender.
ii.Yuan will be a function of trade between China and Zimbabwe and acceptability with customers in Zimbabwe.
iii. China has become the largest investor in Zimbabwe.
iv.To stabilize its hyperinflation crisis, the nation has adopted foreign currencies, mostly the US Dollar and South African Rand, as legal tender.
v. This adoption helped the country to boost its economy.

8. FIFA’S INDEPENDENT ETHICS COMMITTEE BANNED SEPP BLATTER AND MICHEL PLATINI FROM FOOTBALL FOR 8 YEARS
i.The Ethics Committee banned FIFA President Sepp Blatter and Vice-President of Committee of FIFA for 8 years.
ii.They were banned for eight years from all football-related activities including administrative, sports or any other national and international events.

9. 10TH WTO MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ADOPTED NAIROBI PACKAGE
i. The 10th World Trade Organisation Ministerial Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya.
ii.The conference has adopted the Nairobi Package that is aimed to benefit poor member countries.
iii. The conference was attended by trade ministers of 162 member countries of the WTO.
iv.India was represented by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce & Industry Nirmala Sitharaman.
v.The Nairobi Package contains a series of six Ministerial Decisions on agriculture, cotton and issues related to least-developed countries.

10. INTERNATIONAL TENNIS FEDERATION ANNOUNCED WINNERS OF 2015 WORLD CHAMPIONS
i.The International Cricket Council announced the winners for the 2015 ICC Awards in Dubai, UAE.
ii.The awards were based on performance of individuals and teams, both men and women.
iii. List of awardees:
a)  Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year is given to Steven Smith (Australia)
b)  ICC Test Cricketer of the Year - Steven Smith (Australia)
c)   ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year - AB de Villiers (South Africa)
d)  ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year - Meg Lanning (Australia)
e)  ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year - Josh Hazlewood (Australia)
f)    ICC Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year - Khurram Khan (UAE)
g)  ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year - Faf du Plessis (South Africa)
