1. NATIONAL DEWORMING DAY OBSERVED ON
10TH FEBRUARY
i. National
Deworming Day is observed on 10th feburary.
ii. The day
is observed to combat parasitic worm infections among preschool and school-age
children.
iii.National
Deworming Day is observed to reduce the
threat of parasitic worm infections affecting
about 24 crore children in India .

2. RBI RELEASED REPORT ON INTRODUCTION
OF INTEREST RATE OPTIONS IN INDIA
i. The
Reserve Bank of India released the Report of the Working Group on Introduction
of Interest Rate Options in India.
ii.The
report committee was headed by Prof PG Apte.
iii. Recommendations
of the Committee
a. To start
simple call and put Options, floors,caps, collars and swaptions
b.
Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives
Association of India /Financial Benchmark India Private Limited may come out
with the list of eligible domestic money or debt market rates as benchmarks.
c.
No documentation relating to underlying
exposure may be required for exposures up to 5 crore rupees, large corporate
may also be allowed to take hedging positions for their anticipated interest
rate exposures.
3. HINDU MARRIAGE BILL 2015 APPROVED
IN PAKISTAN
i. The
National Assembly committee of Pakistan passed Hindu Marriage Bill 2015.
ii. The
committee adopted the bill he minimum age of the marrying male and female is
fixed at 18 and making the law applicable to the whole of Pakistan.
iii.Before
this act Hindus in Pakistan have been living without documentation of their
marital status .
4. JUSTICE DHIRENDRA HIRALAL WAGHELA
APPOINTED AS CHIEF JUSTICE OF BOMBAY HIGH COURT
i. Justice
Dhirendra Hiralal Waghela was appointed the Chief Justice of the Bombay High
Court.
ii.Justice
Waghela, presently serving as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
5. RAJENDRA K PACHAURI APPOINTED AS EXECUTIVE
VICE CHAIRMAN OF TERI
i. Rajendra
Kumar Pachauri has been appointed as Executive Vice Chairman of The Energy and
Resources Institute .
ii. The Energy
and Resources Institute is a non-profit research institution that conducts
research work in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development.
iii.It was established
in 1974.
6. MAHARASHTRA TOPS IN INTERNET
READINESS INDEX
i.
Maharastra has topped in the Index of Internet Readiness of Indian States
ii. The
purpose of the report was to help governments and business to leverage the
strength internet penetration and suggest policy measures to be taken for
improvements.
iii.Internet
readiness aims to provide more clear picture of the digital ecosphere.
iv.Top 5
states in the internet readiness index are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat,
Telengana and Tamil Nadu.
