1.       EXPAT INSIDER 2022 RANKINGS: INDIA RANKS 36TH OUT OF 52 COUNTRIES

·         According to the Expat Insider 2022 Rankings published by Inter Nations headquartered at Germany, India is ranked 36th out of 52 nations on the list, with a high affordability score.

·         Mexico has topped the Expat Insider 2022 Rankings.  and Indonesia’s at Rank 2

·         Kuwait, ranked 52nd, is the worst country for expats.

·         A person who dwells outside of their nation of origin is known as an expatriate (shortly known as “expat”).

·         The USA is ranked 14, Canada 23 ,and China is at 33.

·         Taiwan, at Rank 3, is regarded as the best in terms of healthcare.

·         India, which came in at number 36, performed best in terms of affordability and access to healthcare.

·         India ranks low in the Quality of Life Index: India is at the bottom 10 spot for all subcategories except Health & Well-Being (19th).

·         The expats rated India as the worst country worldwide for air quality (52nd).

 

2.       BAJRAMBEGAJ TAKES OATH AS NEW PRESIDENT OF ALBANIA

·         BajramBegaj took the oath as the 8th President of the Republic of Albania

·         He is the fifth president in the history of Albania to have a military background

3.       OFFICIAL SLOGAN OF OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC GAMES PARIS 2024

·         the Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024 revealed the new slogan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 – “Games Wide Open” [French: “Ouvrons Grand les Jeux”].

·         Paris, the capital city of France will host the Summer Olympics for the third time in 2024, which also marks the centenary of the last Paris Games in 1924.

·         Los Angeles will  host 2028 Summer Olympic Games in July 2028

 

4.       KOTAK PRIVATE BANKING HURUN RANKING

·         According to the third edition of ‘Kotak Private Banking Hurun – Leading Wealthy Women List 2021, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the chairperson of HCL Technologies has retained her title as the Richest woman in India for the 2nd year in a row.

·         Roshni Nadar is followed by Falguni Nayar of Nykaa, overtaking Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon with a total wealth of Rs.57,520 crore.

·         According to the list, FalguniNayar is the richest self made women in India.

 

5.       WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2022 – JULY 28

·         World Health Organisation (WHO)’s World Hepatitis Day (WHD) is annually celebrated on 28 July to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, which causes inflammation of the liver that leads to severe disease and liver cancer.

·         Theme for World Hepatitis Day 2022- ‘Bringing Hepatitis Care Closer to You.’

 

6.       PARLE TOPPED RANKINGS FOR MOST CHOSEN FMGG BRANDS IN INDIA

·         According to Kantar India’s annual Brand Footprint report 2022 (10th Edition), Parle Products Pvt Limited(Parle),  topped the ranking of most chosen Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) brands in India in 2021.

·         With a CRP score of 6531 (million), Parle has topped the list for the 10th year in a row.

 

7.       INDIA’S FIRST INDIGENOUS AIRCRAFT CARRIER VIKRANT HANDED OVER TO INDIAN NAVY

·         The Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a Public Sector Shipyard under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, handed the Indian Navy with the India’s First Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) Vikrant, the largest warship built in India.

·         It is resurrected from India’s first aircraft carrier – the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Vikrant, and is reincarnated as IAC Vikrant.

·         The aircraft carrier will first be deployed to the Western Naval Command, which is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

·         Vikrant has placed India among a select group of nations with the exclusive capability to indigenously design and build an aircraft carrier—along with the United States (US), the UK, Russia, France, and China.

 

8.       INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY 2022 – JULY 29 

·         International Tiger Day, also known as Global Tiger Day, is annually observed across the globe on 29th July to create awareness about the decreasing population of Tigers and to highlight the importance of the conservation of Tigers (Panthera tigris).

·         The St. Petersburg Declaration on Tiger Conservation was signed during the International Tiger Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia from 21 to 24 November 2010, proclaimed the 29th July of every year as the Global Tiger Day.

·         National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA)has been constituted under section 38 L (1) of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
