ICC WOMEN’S ODI WORLD CUP 2025
·
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team won first-ever 13th edition of
International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s One Day
International (ODI) World Cup 2025 title, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final match held at
the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi
Mumbai (Maharashtra).
·
Player of the Match: Shafali Verma (21 years) delivered a
match-winning all-round performance of
87 runs and 2 wickets, earning the Player of the Match award.
·
Player of the Tournament: Deepti Sharma scored 58 runs and took 5/39 to become the first Indian with a five-wicket haul in a Women’s World Cup final,
earning the Player of the tournament award with 215 runs and 22 wickets.
·
Smriti Mandhana scored 434 runs at an average of 54.25, including one century and
two fifties, becoming.
·
India’s highest run-getter of the tournament, surpassing Mithali Raj’s 409 runs
(2017) and finishing second overall behind Laura Wolvaardt (470 runs).
·
The 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup featured a total prize pool of Rs. 37.3 crore, reflecting a
239% rise from the previous edition.
·
India, the champions, claimed USD
6.58 million (over Rs. 55 crore), while South Africa, the runners-up,
received USD 3.24 million (around Rs. 27 crore).
·
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an
additional Rs.51 crore cash prize for the team, as declared by
Secretary Devajit Saikia, BCCI.
2. KANE WILLIAMSON ANNOUNCED
T20I RETIREMENT
·
Former captain of New Zealand’s
men’s cricket team, Kane Stuart Williamson announced
his retirement from T-20 International (T20I) cricket format.
·
However, Williamson will continue
to play Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket for New Zealand.
·
Williamson retires as the 2nd highest
run-scorer for New Zealand in men’s T-20I with 2575 runs at
an average of 33.44, including 18 half-centuries (50s) and has
a highest score of 95.
·
In October 2025, he was appointed the strategic adviser for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow
Super Giants (LSG) for 2026 season.
3. SURJIT HOCKEY TROPHY
·
Indian Oil Mumbai won the 42nd edition of Indian Oil
Servo Surjit Hockey Trophy for the 3rd consecutive
year and 7th time overall, by defeating Indian Railways (IR) Delhi by 2-1 in
the final match held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar, Punjab.

The winning team received monetary prize of Rs 5.51 lakh.
·
the 1st runner-up team i.e. IR Delhi received monetary prize of 2.50 lakh.
·
Talwinder Singh (Indian Oil Mumbai team) was named the best player of the
tournament.
·
Punjab Police Team Captain Olympian Harmanpreet Singh was
named the best scorer of the tournament.
4. ASIAN YOUTH GAMES 2025
·
The 3rd edition
of the Asian Youth Games (AYG) 2025, organized by the Olympic
Council of Asia (OCA), was held in Manama,
Kingdom of Bahrain.
·
The event served as the Asian qualification
tournament for the 2026 Summer Youth Olympics Games (YoG) in Dakar, Senegal.
·
45 National Olympic
Committees (NOCs) Participated under 28 Sports Disciplines.
·
London 2012 Olympic bronze
medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt served as the
Chef de Mission for the Indian
contingent.
·
The People’s Republic of China topped the standings, winning 63 gold, 49 silver, and 35 bronze medals, for a total of 147.

India finished the 3rd with a total of 48
medals, comprising 13 gold, 18
silver, and 17 bronze.

Athletics featured the largest Indian representation, with a

5. INDIA TO HOST MILAN 2026, IFR, AND IONS
CONCLAVE
·
The Indian Navy(IN) announced that Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh(AP), will host three major international maritime events:
International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026,
Exercise MILAN 2026, and the Indian Ocean
Naval Symposium (IONS) Conclave of
Chiefs.
·
This will be the first time India
hosts all three flagship naval events simultaneously.
·
Exercise MILAN 2026 is a biennial multilateral naval exercise conducted under the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) of the IN.
·
IONS Conclave of Chiefs will bring together
naval chiefs from member and observer nations to discuss key issues like
maritime security, humanitarian assistance & disaster relief (HADR), and
information-sharing frameworks.
6. INDIAN ARMY HOSTS YOUNG LEADER FORUM “VEER
YUVA”
·
The Indian Army (IA), in collaboration with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), hosted
the Young Leaders Forum (YLF)-VEER YUVA at the Manekshaw
Centre, New Delhi to mark National Unity
Day and inspire youth participation in nation-building.
·
The forum served as a precursor to the third edition of the Chanakya
Defence Dialogue 2025 (CDD 2025), the IA’s flagship annual seminar,
scheduled for November 27–28, 2025, under the theme “Reform to Transform: Sashakt, Surakshit aur Viksit Bharat.”
·
YLF VEER YUVA Aim to empower youth as the
torchbearers of change in shaping Viksit Bharat @2047 through leadership,
innovation, and national service.
7. INDIA WITHDRAWS FROM AYNI AIRBASE IN TAJIKISTAN
·
India officially concluded its nearly two-decade-long
presence at the Ayni Airbase in Tajikistan.
·
The collaboration, initiated 4
years ago to revitalize the Soviet-era base, ended after the bilateral agreement on stationing Indian personnel at the airbase expired in 2022.
·
Also, the strategic utility of
air base expired following the collapse of Northern Alliance in Afghanistan
and complete takeover of the country by Taliban in 2021.
·
Ayni Airbase is is located about 15
kilometer (km) west of Dushanbe, the
capital city of Tajikistan.
·
India had established its 1st base
in Tajikistan at Farkhor in 1998, which operated till 2008.
·
In 2002, the Government of India
(GoI) signed a bilateral agreement with the Government of Tajikistan, to jointly operate airbase, which became India’s 1st and only overseas military
installation.
8. CITY UNION BANK SECURED USD 50 MILLION FROM
IFC
·
City Union Bank (CUB) received a USD 50 million commitment from the International Finance
Corporation (IFC), a
member of the World Bank(WB) Group, to boost green financing and help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to
adopt energy-efficient and sustainable practices.
·
The partnership supports India’s net-zero 2070 goal by promoting green
technology adoption in the MSME sector.
9. L&T TO MANUFACTURE MALE
DRONES IN INDIA
·
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) entered into a
strategic partnership with General
Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI), USA based global
leader in Unmanned Aircraft Systems
(UAS), to manufacture Medium
Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Remotely
Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) in
India for the Indian armed forces.

This collaboration supports the Ministry of Defense’s (MoD) plan
to induct 87 MALE RPAS, aimed at enhancing India’s surveillance,
reconnaissance, and precision-strike capabilities.
10. RBI LAUNCHES 3 KEY SURVEYS FOR MONETARY
POLICY INPUTS

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the
launch of its November 2025 rounds of 3 key surveys which
include: Inflation
Expectations Survey of Households (IESH), Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS) and Urban Consumer Confidence Survey (UCCS).
·
IESH: This
survey is designed to capture subjective
assessments on price movements and inflation, based on their individual
consumption baskets, across 19 major Indian cities.
·
The survey gathers households’ views on price
changes for general and specific products over the next three months and one year,
along with current and expected inflation rates. Its findings serve as key
inputs for monetary policy decisions.
·
RCCS: It
is a bi-monthly survey that gathers
household-level sentiment from rural and
semi-urban areas across India.
·
This survey is tasked to collect
current perceptions and one-year-ahead expectations of households on the
general economic situation, employment scenario, price trends, income and
spending from households living in rural and semi-urban areas across 31
States/ Union Territories (UTs).
·
UCCS: It
is a bi-monthly survey capturing the
sentiments of urban households on the economy, employment, income, spending
and prices.
·
The survey gauges’ short-term
shifts in consumer sentiment by collecting qualitative responses on the
general economic situations, employment scenario, price trends, income and
spending patterns from urban households across 19 cities.
11. SEBI CAPS WEIGHTS IN BANK NIFTY
·
The market regulator
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced significant reforms to the Nifty Bank
index, aimed at enhancing diversification and reducing concentration risk.
·
The new norms apply to
popular NBI (Non-Benchmark Index),
including BANKNIFTY (derivative traded on NSE (National Stock Exchange)), BANKEX (derivative traded on
BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), and FINNIFTY
(derivative traded on NSE).
·
The index will now require a
minimum of 14 constituents,
an increase from the current 12.
·
The weight of the top constituent
will be limited to 20%, reduced from 33%.
·
Additionally, the combined weight of the top three
constituents cannot exceed 45%, down from 62%.
·
The index must have a descending
weight structure – each stock’s weight should be less than the
previous higher-weighted stock.
·
For BANKEX and FINNIFTY, full compliance is
required in a single tranche by December 31, 2025.
·
BANKNIFTY, however, has been allowed a phased implementation approach
spread across four monthly intervals, with a final deadline of March
31, 2026.
·
A non-benchmark index is a financial index that is not used as a
standard to measure the performance of
other investments, unlike a benchmark index which is used for comparison.
·
They are generally sectoral or thematic in
nature, as they
track a specific segment of the market (such as banking or financial services)
or a specific market capitalisation segment, such as Midcap.

UPI TRANSACTIONS IN MALAYSIA
·
NPCI International Payments Limited (NPIL), a
wholly owned subsidiary of National
Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), partnered
with Razorpay Curlec, a wholly owned subsidiary of Razorpay, to enable Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions
in Malaysia.
·
Under this partnership, Indian tourists and travelers
visiting Malaysia will be able to make
real-time UPI payments at local merchants using their existing UPI
applications(apps).
·
The payment will be made in
Indian Rupees (INR), while the Malaysian
merchant will receive the amount in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).

DOORSTEP DIGITAL LIFE
CERTIFICATE SERVICES
·
The India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), under the Department of
Posts (DoP), Ministry of Communications, has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) under
the Ministry of Labor& Employment (MoL&E), to provide doorstep Digital Life Certificate (DLC) services to pensioners under the Employees’
Pension Scheme, 1995.
·
The process employs face authentication and fingerprint
biometric technology, ensuring seamless issuance of the Jeevan
Pramaan certificate (JPC). The service is applicable for both
IPPB and non IPPB customers.
·
The EPFO will bear the cost of issuing the DLC, making the service free
of cost for them.
14. SBI EXECUTES FIRST GOLD TRADE ON IIBX
·
State Bank of India (SBI) has executed
its first gold transaction as a Special Category Client (SCC) on the
India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX) located
at Gujarat International Finance Technology(GIFT) City,
Gujarat.
·
The initiative aims to simplify bullion
import processes,
enhance price transparency, and provide better market access for jewellery
exporters and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) within a regulated
trading framework.
·
SCC Status: Under this category, banks can directly participate in bullion trading
without
registering as trading members, allowing for smoother procurement and improved
price discovery in the bullion market.
·
SBI became the first Indian bank to register as a Trading-cum-Clearing (TCM) Member of
IIBX in 2024.
15. EPFO CELEBRATES 73RD FOUNDATION DAY
·
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Ministry of Labour
and Employment (MoL&E), celebrated its 73rd Foundation Day
in New Delhi.
·
EPFO launched the Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025, designed
to encourage employers to voluntarily
declare and enrol eligible employees under the Employees’ Provident Fund
(EPF).
·
The scheme, operational from 1st November 2025, exempts
employers from paying the employee’s
share of contributions if it was not deducted
earlier and imposes only a nominal penalty of Rs.100 per establishment.
·
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy
of Social Security (PDUNASS), the training arm of EPDFO, was conferred
two Bhavishya Nidhi Awards 2025 for
Best Achievement in Capacity Building, and Special Initiative – Reimagining

16. WORLD VEGAN DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 1
·
World Vegan Day (WVD) is annually observed across the
globe on November 1 to spread awareness among people about the
benefits of a vegan diet for health and well-being.
·
In 1994, WVD was established by Louise Wallis, the then
Chair of the Vegan Society, United Kingdom (UK), to commemorate the 50th
anniversary of the Vegan Society.
·
Vegan Society was originally formed on November 1, 1944, by David Watson and his peers in
England to promote a lifestyle free from animal exploitation.
·
The term “vegan”, coined in 1944
by Donald Watson,an English animal
rights activist and co-founder of the Vegan Society.
·
It was derived from the first and last letters of “vegetarian”, symbolizing a step beyond vegetarianism.
·
Vegans follow a plant-based diet, avoiding meat, eggs, dairy, and ingredients like gelatin, casein, and whey.
17. INTERNATIONAL DAY TO END IMPUNITY FOR CRIMES
AGAINST JOURNALISTS 2025 – NOVEMBER 2

The United Nations (UN’s) International Day to End Impunity for
Crimes against Journalists (IDEI), observed on 2 November,
to raise global awareness about the threat posed by impunity for attacks
against journalists.
·
Theme: “Chat
GBV: Raising Awareness on AI-facilitated Gender-Based Violence against Women
Journalists”
·
“Chat GBV”: It is a call to action aimed at combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV),
particularly Technology-Facilitated GBV (TFGBV) targeting women journalists.
·
The date was chosen to honor French journalists
Ghislaine Dupont (57) and Claude Verlon (55) of Radio France
Internationale (RFI), who were
assassinated on 2 November 2013 in Mali.

18. INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOSPHERE RESERVES 2025 – NOVEMBER 3
·
The International
Day for Biosphere Reserves (BR), also known as the World Biosphere Reserve Day, is
observed every year across the world on 3rd November by UNESCO to
raise awareness about the importance of BR and to promote their conservation
and sustainable management.
·
The Man and the Biosphere (MAB)
Programme is an intergovernmental
scientific initiative that provides a scientific foundation for improving
the relationship between people and their environments.
·
The World Network of BR (WNBR) has 759 sites in 136 countries including
25 transboundary sites.
·
India has 18 designated BRs covering around
91,425square kilometers(sq. km), out of which 13 are included in UNESCO’s WNBR.

WORLD TSUNAMI
AWARENESS DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 5
·
The United Nations (UN) observes World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) every
year across the globe on 5 November
·
Theme: “Be Tsunami Ready: Invest in Tsunami
Preparedness”.
·
The date commemorates Japan’s legend “Inamura-no-hi”,
where village leader Goryo Hamaguchi
saved his people from a tsunami on 5 November 1854 by burning rice sheaves as a warning.
