year’s list was released with 5 international covers

is the youngest person on this
year’s list in ‘Icons’ category.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus (84

Five Wisden Cricketers of the Year are
England’s Gus Atkinson, Jamie Smith and Sophie

and Dan Worral playing from Surrey, England.

New Zealand's Mitchell
Santner was awarded the Wisden
Trophy 2024 for his brilliant match figures of 13 wickets for 157 runs
against India.

Mandhana have been honoured as the world’s leading male and female cricketers for 2024

ISSF WORLD CUP LIMA 2025
·
The International Shooting Sport
Federation (ISSF) Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun (RPSH) World
Cup (WC) 2025 was held in Lima, Peru
·
India finished third on
the medal tally with 7 medals (2 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze),
behind China (13 medals) and the United
States of America (USA) (7 medals).
·
This was the second WC of the 2025 ISSF season, following the first event in Buenos Aires, Argentina
(1st–10th April 2025), where India secured 8 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), finishing second behind
China.
·
Gold
medalists from the Lima event have qualified for the season-ending ISSF World Cup Final (WCF) 2025,
scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar, in
December 2025.
5.
ASIAN U18 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
·
The 6th Asian U18 Athletics
Championships 2025 were held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
·
India concluded its
campaign with a total of 11 medals (1 Gold, 5
Silver, and 5 Bronze), securing the 8th position in
the overall medal standings.
·
China topped the
medal tally with 36 medals, followed by Uzbekistan with
12 medals.

IBSF WORLD BILLIARDS CHAMPION 2025
·
Indian
cueist Sourav Kothari won
the International Billiards and Snooker Federation(IBSF) World
Billiards Championship 2025 title, defeating Pankaj Advani,
a multiple-time world champion, in the final held at the Snooker and Billiards
Ireland (SBI) Academy, Carlow, Ireland.
·
This
victory marked Sourav Kothari’s first IBSF
World Billiards title making him only the third Indian to
win both the IBSF and World Billiards
League (WBL) World titles.
7. NEERAJ CHOPRA WINS GOLD AT POTCH
INVITATIONAL 2025
·
Neeraj
Chopra, India’s
two-time Olympic medallist in javelin throw, opened his 2025 season with
a gold medal at the NWU Potch Invitational in
Potchefstroom, South Africa.
·
He
achieved a throw of 84.52 meters, surpassing South Africa’s Douw Smit (82.44m)
and Duncan Robertson (71.22m) to top the podium.

WORLD’S TOP 100 BANKS BY ASSETS IN 2025
·
S&P Global Market Intelligence released
its latest Annual Ranking State Bank of India and HDFC
Bank Limited are the only two Indian banks
to be featured among the world’s top 100 largest banks by assets.
·
China’s Industrial and Commercial Bank of
China Limited, ICBC topped in the list followed
by Agricultural Bank of China Ltd.(ABC)

BSE COMMEMORATE ITS 150 YEAR LEGACY
·
Nirmala Sitharaman, Ministry
of Finance unveiled a Rs 150 commemorative coin to celebrate the 150
years of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Asia’s oldest stock exchange
·
She also launched BSE@150
Logo and BSE 150 Index, a new
benchmark index designed to monitor the performance of the top 150 listed
companies based on market capitalization and liquidity.

10.
MINORS ABOVE 10 YEARS TO OPERATE ACCOUNTS
INDEPENDENTLY
·
Reserve Bank of India has
issued revised directions regarding the opening
and operation in the deposit accounts of minors.
·
As per RBI directions, minors
above the age 10 are now allowed to open and operate their own savings as well as term deposit accounts independently, subject to limits and terms defined by
individual banks.
·
RBI
has also allowed minors below the age of 10 to open
their accounts subject to condition that it has to be done through his/her natural or legal guardian.
·
It has further clarified that minors under the age of 10 years are now
allowed to open such bank accounts with
their mother as a guardian.
