Sindhu has won the 2015 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton tournament in the
women’s single category.

Sindhu won the Title after
defeating Minatsu Mitani of Japan .
iii. She has won this title for the
third consecutive time after winning it in 2013 and 2014.

ETHIOPIAN BIRHANU LEGESE AND KENYAN CYNTHIA LIMO WIN 2015 DELHI HALF MARATHON
i. Birhanu Legese from Ethiopia and Cynthia
Limo from Kenya have grabbed the 2015 Delhi Half Marathon in men’s and women’s
categories.
ii. In Delhi Half Marathon around
34,000 athletes and runners from different parts of the world had participated.
iii. The Indian runners Nitendra Singh
Rawat and Lalita Babar ranked first in the men’s and women’s category.

i. International Cricket Council
suspended West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine from bowling in international
cricket.
ii. The International Cricket Council
found his bowling action to be illegal.

PATRICIA SCOTLAND APPOINTED AS SECRETARY GENERAL OF COMMONWEALTH OF NATIONS
i. Dominica-born British lawyer
Patricia Scotland was appointed as the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of
Nations.
ii. She becomes the first British
citizen and first woman to hold the post in the 66-year history of 53-member
Commonwealth.
iii. She will replace India's Kamalesh
Sharma.
iv. Commonwealth Secretary-General is
the head of the Commonwealth Secretariat, the central body that has served the
Commonwealth of Nations since its establishment in 1965.
v.Its main aim is to represent the
organisation globally and to promote its values and principles mainly for
democratic standards and development. It is headquartered in London.
