1. PRESIDENT PRANAB MUKHERJEE CONFERRED INFOSYS PRIZE 2015
i. President Pranab Mukherjee  Infosys Prize 2015 on six winners in New Delhi.
ii.The awards were received by Prof Umesh Waghmare, Prof Jonardon Ganeri, Dr Amit Sharma, Prof Mahan Mj, Prof G Ravindra Kumar and Dr Srinath Raghavan.

LIST OF AWARDEES:
a.       In Engineering and Computer Science field Prof. Umesh Waghmare received award for his innovative use of first-principles theories and modelling in insightful investigations of microscopic mechanisms responsible for specific properties of certain materials.
b.      In Humanities the award is won by Prof. Jonardon Ganeri for his originality in interpreting and scrutinizing analytical Indian Philosophy.
c.       In Life Sciences the award is won by Dr. Amit Sharma for his pioneering contributions towards deciphering the molecular structure, at the atomic level, of key proteins involved in the biology of pathogenesis of the deadly malarial parasite.
d.      In Mathematical Sciences the award is won by Prof Mahan Mj for establishing a central conjecture in the Thurston program to study hyperbolic 3-manifolds and introduced important new tools to study fundamental groups of complex manifolds.
e.       In Physical Sciences the award is Won by Prof. G Ravindra Kumar for his contributions to the physics of high intensity laser matter interactions.
f.        In Social Sciences the award is won by Dr. Srinath Raghavan for outstanding research that synthesizes military history, international politics, and strategic analysis into powerful and imaginative perspectives on India in global context.

2. JNANPITH AWARD WINNING POET O N V KURUP DIED
i. Famous Malayalam poet and Jnanpith-winner Ottaplakkal Neelakandan Velu Kurup passed away in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
ii. He received the Padma Shri award in 1998 and Padma Vibhushan in 2011.
iii. He is known for his famous published book named Dahikunna Panapatram .

3. PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI INAUGURATED MAKE IN INDIA WEEK IN MUMBAI
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Make in India Week in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
ii.The theme of the week is design, innovation and sustainability to showcase India's manufacturing sector potential in the coming decade.
iii.Make In India Week is beginning from 13 February 2016 to  18 February 2016.
iv. It was attended by Prime Minister of Sweden, Finland, and Lithuania Stefan Löfven, Juha Sipilä and Algirdas Butkevičius respectively and Deputy PM of Poland Piotr Glinski among others.

4. 13 FEBRUARY OBSERVED AS WORLD RADIO DAY
i. World Radio Day is observed globally on 13th February.
ii.The day is observed to remember the unique power of radio that touches lives and bring people together across every corner of the globe.
iii.The theme of the day is “Radio in Times of Emergency and Disaster”.

5. 1ST MEGA FOOD PARK INAUGURATED IN MADHYA PRADESH
i. 1st Mega Food Park is inaugurated in Panwa village of Madhya pardesh.
ii.The food park  is named after Indus.
iii. It will create a modern infrastructure and provide impetus to the growth of food processing sector in Madhya Pradesh.
vi. It will help in providing better prices to farmers, reduce wastage of perishables and add value to agricultural produce.

6. 4TH WORLD GOVERNMENT SUMMIT CONCLUDED IN DUBAI
i. The 3 day annual World Government Summit Held in Dubai, UAE.
ii. It provides an opportunity to show innovations, best practice and smart solutions to inspire creativity to tackle these future challenges.
iii.In World Government Summit  challenges faced by the humanity such as climate change, financial inclusion, pension sustainability, education for all, etc are discussed.
 iv.The solutions and strategies are discussed for sustainable development goals, internet of things, virtual health, etc.

v. 2016 Best m-Government Service Award is presented to Karnataka’s Mobile One project the award in the One Stop App category at the international level.
