1. INDIGENOUSLY DEVELOPED SODAR SYSTEM

Sound Detection and Ranging (SODAR)
system facility, indigenously designed and developed by Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research-Advanced Materials Processes Research
Institute (CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal), was inaugurated at
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi.

17TH ASIA
CRICKET CUP 2025
·
India clinched the Asia Cup 2025 for a
record-extending Ninth time, defeating Pakistan in
the Finals held in Dubai.
·
The 17th edition of the Asia Cup was set to host by India, but later it was
shifted to UAE, with 11 matched
being held in Dubai and 8 matches held in Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
·
The tournament featured eight teams, with five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and three teams (UAE, Oman, Hong Kong) which finished top three in
2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup.

With nine titles (seven ODI
and two T20I), India becomes the most successful
team in the history of tournament.
·
Where Sri Lanka is the second most successful team with six
titles and Pakistan have won two.
·
The Asia Cup cricket
tournament commenced in 1984, headquartered in UAE.
·
Scheduled to be held
in 2027 and will be hosted by Bangladesh.
3. SAFF UNDER-17 MEN’S FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
·
The 10th
edition of the SAFF Under-17 Men’s
Football Championship 2025 was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
·
India’s Under-17 team emerged victorious by defeating Bangladesh in
the final.
·
The final match ended in a 2-2
draw, with India clinching the title 4-1 in the penalty shootout.
·
With this victory, India secured their seventh SAFF
U-17 title.
·
Championship featured seven teams, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal,
Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
·
Fair Play Award: India.
·
Highest Goal Scorer: Md Abdullah (Pakistan) – 6 goals.
·
Most Valuable Player: Nazmul Huda Faysal (Bangladesh).
·
Best Goalkeeper: Md Alif Rahman Imtiage
(Bangladesh).

WORLD PARA ARCHERY
CHAMPIONSHIPS-2025
·
The 15th edition
of the World Para Archery Championships-2025, held in Gwangju, South Korea.
·
India secured a total
of five medals (two
gold, two silver, and one bronze), finishing
second in the overall medal table.
·
A total of 239 participants competing from 47 countries in the
championship.
·
China emerged as the topper in
the medal tally in the championship with 12 medals (6 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze).
·
While, India finished second, and Mongolia being third with
2 Gold medals.
·
Indian Sheetal Devi scripted history by becoming the first woman without arms to win a
world championship gold in the category by
defeating Turkiye’s world No. 1 Oznur Cure Girdi.
·
Toman Kumar clinched the gold medal by defeating
his opponent and teammate Rakesh Kumar, who settled
for a silver medal.
·

5. WOMEN’S T20 WORLD CUP CRICKET FOR THE BLIND
·
India and Sri Lanka are set to co-host the inaugural Women’s T20 World
Cup – Cricket for the Blind in November 2025.
·
The tournament will feature
teams from Australia, England, India,
Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the USA.

LIST 2025
·
Mukesh Ambani, has reclaimed the top spot as India’s Richest
Man with a net worth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore.
·
replacing Gautam Adani and
family, who dropped from 1st spot (in 2024) to 2nd spot in 2025
rankings with a wealth of Rs 8.15 lakh crore.
·
For
the 1st time, Roshni Nadar and family featured into the top 3,
ranked at 3rd position with net worth of Rs 2.84 lakh
crore, becoming richest woman in India.
·
This
year’s M3M Hurun India Rich List features 1,687 individuals with
a net worth of Rs1,000 crore or more, marking an increase of 148 compared to
2024 and 859 over the past five years.
·
India
now has 358 billionaires, six times more than when the list was
first published 13 years ago.
·
The
combined wealth of Indians featured on the list is Rs 167 lakh crore (marking
an annual increase of 5%), which is equivalent to nearly 50% of
India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
·
Mumbai
continues to be
billionaire hub in India with 451 billionaires; followed by
New Delh (223 billionaires) and Bengaluru (Karnataka) (116 billionaires).
·
The
report showed that Pharmaceuticals sector continues to
dominate as the most
represented sector, with 137 individuals featured in the list;
followed by industrial products (132) and chemicals & petrochemicals (125).
·
Aravind Srinivas (31-year-old), founder of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) startup, Perplexity, has emerged as India’s
youngest billionaire on the list with a net worth of Rs 21,900 crore.
·
Dr. Garima Sawhney (39-year-old), co-founder of Pristyn Care, emerged as the
youngest self-made woman entrepreneur on the list.
7.
RBI EASES RULES ON
BANKS’ OVERSEAS PERPETUAL DEBT
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released
‘RBI (Basel III Capital Regulations-PDI
in AT 1 Capital) Directions,2025’, raising the limit for perpetual debt that banks can
raise overseas and use as part of their core capital.
·
The RBI has also revised the
regulations for Small Business Loans (SBL), permitting more frequent
adjustments to the credit risk spread charged to borrowers.
·
The new direction is applicable to all Scheduled Commercial
Banks (SCB) (excluding Small Finance
Banks (SFB), Payments Banks (PB) and Regional Rural Banks (RRB).
·
These Directions shall come
into force from October 01, 2025.
·
The Perpetual Debt Instruments (PDIs) issued in foreign currency/ rupee
denominated bonds overseas shall be eligible for inclusion in Additional Tier 1
(AT1) capital up to a maximum
amount of 1.5% of Risk Weighted Assets (RWAs)
as per the latest available financial statements.
·
Previously, the RBI had capped perpetual debt
at 1.5% of RWA,
allowing less than half to be raised overseas.
8.
RBI
SCHEME TO SPEED UP SETTLEMENT OF INOPERATIVE ACCOUNTS, UNCLAIMED DEPOSITS
·
The
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced a new scheme for facilitating accelerated payout to ensure
faster settlement of inoperative accounts and unclaimed deposits lying with
banks.
·
As
of June 2025, the unclaimed deposits stood at over Rs. 67,000
crore (cr).
·
The
objective is to encourage banks to
actively pursue customers/ depositors for re-activation of their
inoperative accounts and return of their unclaimed amounts lying with Depositors Education Awareness (DEA)
Fund to the rightful claimants in a timely and efficient manner.
·
The
scheme is applicable to all the banks
registered under the DEA Fund Scheme.
·
The
scheme is available for one-year period, i.e. from October 01, 2025 to
September 30, 2026.
9.
SEBI
LAUNCHED MITRA PLATFORM
·
The
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) launched a new digital platform, Mutual Fund
Investment Tracing and Retrieval
Assistant (MITRA).
·
The
new platform is designed to help
investors in tracking and reclaiming inactive or unclaimed Mutual Fund (MF)
folios.
·
The
platform is jointly managed by two Qualified Registrar and Transfer Agents
(QRTAs) namely, Computer Age Management Services Limited (CAMS) and KFin Technologies
Limited.
·
SEBI
has also extended the deadline for the complete roll out of algorithm trading
rules for retail investors to April 01, 2026.
10. SIDBI LAUNCHED NEW SCHEME ‘DIA’ TO
TRANSFORM MSME CLUSTERS
·
The
initiative aims to strengthen Micro,
Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across India by implementing a
cost-effective, innovative, and self-sustaining cluster development model.
·
The
scheme provides focused assistance for
infrastructure, skilled human resources, and early-stage activities using a
demand-driven approach.
·
Apart
from the DIA scheme, the industry portal was launched at the conclave.
·
It
is a digital Business-to-Business (B2B)
platform that empowers industry associations and members, serving as a hub
for research, networking, information-sharing, and resolving financial &
technical challenges.
